متفرقات - عبود نوه بانجازات مدير معهد الصحافة العالمية المستقيل دادج

وطنية - 3/8/2010 نوه عضو معهد الصحافة العالمية مازن عبود، بمناقبية دايفيد دادج - مدير معهد الصحافة العالمي (فينا) الذي استقال من موقعه مساء امس (قبل شهر وبضعة ايام من انعقاد المؤتمر العام للمعهد الذي يتزامن والذكرى الستين لتأسيسه)، مطلقا عليه لقب المحارب الباسل في سبيل حرية الاعلام الذي عزز عمل المعهد على كل الصعد.

وتمنى لنائبته بيتيل ماكينزي التي عينت مديرة مؤقتة للمعهد الفلاح في مهامها ومتابعة ما قد بدأه سلفها.

وقدر عبود لدادج، الذي وصفه بالصديق، اهتمامه بلبنان الذي تجلى بوضع ملف الحريات الاعلامية في بلد الارز في قمة اولويات المعهد.

وكان دادج قد زار لبنان في العام الماضي، على رأس وفد متخصص، لدرس اوضاع قطاع الحريات الاعلامية فيه. وأصدر تقريرا في هذا الاطار يعتبر من افضل ما انجز حول الوضع الاعلامي اللبناني. كما وضع بنودا تنفيذية في خطة المعهد للاعوام المقبلة تتعلق بتأهيل الاعلاميين في لبنان وحمايتهم وتعزيز حضورهم في المعهد المذكور.

Following the decision of the International Press Institute (IPI) Executive Board (VIENNA, August 2 2010), to appoint IPI Deputy Director Alison Bethel McKENZIE an Interim Director following the decision by Director David DADGE to step down in pursuit of new opportunities; Mazen ABBOUD, a Lebanese free lance Journalist & a IPI member, said to the Lebanese National Agency (NNA) this morning that former director David DADGE is indeed a valiant warrior for press freedom and freedom of expression, who worked to strengthen IPI presence in Lebanon & the Middle East.
ABBOUD recognized the role of DADGE who headed a special IPI commission to the Lebanon in fall 2009; & issued a special report on the state of press freedom in it, an "important analytical document that describes the structural problems of the press sector in the country" as he described it. Finally, he wished the new director, success in her new job.
